(Easter-Eggs)

Spring comes after winter. The weather is cold in winter but when spring comes it becomes warmer. Spring does not come at the same time in every place. In Beijing spring comes around February. In Europe and America, however, spring comes with Easter.

Easter is a religious holiday. It comes on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25. At Easter time students in Europe and America have a week or ten days of spring holidays. This religious holiday celebrates Christ's rising from the dead. Churches celebrate the day with music and beautiful decorations. Some churches have services at sunrise on Easter morning.

With the coming of Easter, winter ends and spring comes. People decorate their homes and churches with beautiful spring flowers. An ordinary house may become a beautiful one after the decoration.

Children usually want to celebrate Easter by dyeing eggs. They put colored eggs in little baskets. They say that the Easter rabbit laid the eggs. They put candy in the baskets, too. Easter candy is made in the form of eggs and little chickens and rabbits.

For the Europeans and the Americans, Easter is a happy time like Christmas. Many people buy new clothes for Easter. They wear their new clothes to church.

During the afternoon, many people go for a walk. They walk up and down the streets of the large cities. They wear their new Easter hats and suits. They see their friends on the street. This walk on Easter afternoon is the Easter parade.

But Easter is not always warm and sunny. Sometimes it may rain and people have to wear raincoats and carry umbrellas. Sometimes it may become cold and people have to wear their warm winter coats.
