You may wonder why the website is called 1001english.

We are sure that few people have never read or heard of the Oriental stories from The Arabian Nights, a collection of Arabian folktales dating from the 10th century. Also known as The Thousand and One Nights, the collection is generally considered as an entity to be among the classics of world literature.

Just like The Thousand and One Nights, the mission of our website is to collect from all over the world at least 1001 simple stories, including fables, legends, folktales and myths, by which we would entertain those who are interested in folklore, literature and culture.
